You know when you are packing for a trip, and you are Just. Going. To. Make. Everything. Fit. in the suitcase? You sit on the luggage, while someone else zips it up really fast before you blast into outer space from the sheer pressure building up. Or another scenario -- imagine a closet door that is bulging outwards with steam curling out from the cracks of the door, any second about to expel the entire contents into the room.
Well. This is me. Both scenarios. In so many locations.
Jason and I are planning to move mid-January into a larger apartment. It has always been a tight squeeze with two people with hobbies, three cats (one a four-month old kitten) and a Golden Retriever in a one-bedroom apartment. The closet, granted is a fabulous size with lots of shelves. But, even when it was just me, the "fabric creep" was evident. Partly due to my disorganization, admittedly. However, I am attempting to use this upcoming change to create a fabulous sewing space design, with "a place for everything, and everything in its place." Today I plan to visit the apartment office to ask them to take me into an empty version of our new apartment so I can measure all the walls etc. for proper design set-up.
I have been surfing all over the internet for the most fabulous ideas. Check out this woman's set-up from her blog Sew Many Ways! I mean WOWOWOWOWOW.
I mean THIS is what I aspire to be. Of course, I don't think she has the amount of fabric I do. But, I shall work at it. Ideas are always welcome and I look forward to posting a fabulous photo in a month or so of the clean, organized, everything in its place sewing area at Chez Shannon/Jason.
